A medieval town, one of the world's best-known downhill courses and a serious restaurant scene.
Kitzbühel is an Alpine resort that is also a proper town. The medieval centre has painted façades, independent shops and restaurants that stay busy all year, so evenings feel lively without one loud bar setting the tone. We send families, mixed-ability groups and anyone who wants as much from the town as from the mountain.
The KitzSki area offers around 233 km of slopes served by 58 lifts, linking Kitzbühel with Kirchberg, Jochberg and Pass Thurn. Most of the terrain suits confident intermediates, with long cruising runs and a hut on almost every piste. The season typically runs from early November to mid-April.
Everyone comes to see the Streif, the Hahnenkamm downhill course. Outside race week a private guide can take you down at a civilised pace, which is the only sensible way to try it.
The 87th Hahnenkamm Races run from 18 to 24 January 2027, with the downhill on Saturday 23 January. It is the busiest week of the Kitzbühel winter, and accommodation around these dates is booked early. If you want to be here, ask us about availability well in advance.
In summer the same mountains turn into hiking and biking country, and the region is known for its golf courses. The Schwarzsee, a short drive from town, is a natural lake for swimming on warm days. Summer stays start from two nights, with any arrival day.
Salzburg and Innsbruck airports are both about 1 hour 15 minutes by car; Munich is about 2 hours. We arrange private transfers timed to your flights.
We do not have a chalet in this resort at the moment. These are chalets we do offer elsewhere in Austria. See all chalets · Contact
